• sps sir

i said there is no superior-inferior among devotees.. yes, there are be differences in the devotees in the way they see god and invoke god. but the love of a devotee to god is staunch and unshakeable.. else he cannot be even clasified as a devotee..

there is no superior devotee or inferior devotee...

ravanan was killed by ramar.. was he a devotee of ramar if that be the case... he was constantly thinking of ramar as an enemy.. thought so overpowering his other work.. just because he was thinking of ramar he got moksham in the hands of ramar...

here per se we feel devotion itself is absent.. but a constant thinking.. the method used to invoke god is different.. but he is not an inferior devotee...

Instead of considering our view on devotion, we need to see what the devotees themselves considered about devotion of others.

    1. Chandeswra moorthy, nandikeswara had a supreme type of devotion and that was recognised by lord himself.

    2. As SPS sir said, all the three sang thiruvalangadu from outside the village since they do not want to walk on the holy place where karaikkal ammaiyar walked.

    3. Simillarly sambandar sang kachi melthali from outside as he did not want to walk on the holy site where appar did his uzhavarappani. ( the song is lost.)

    4. Sundarar simillarly gave respect to seergali, the birth place of sambandar and sang from outside.
  • Sir

With due respects, am not sure if there are any solid proofs of these stories. Actually could be a bard's tale on most of these cases.

The truth could be different in essence.
Even the case of Guru Arunagiri falling from roof top is not properly documented. Did he really attempt suicide or was there something that happened in between his thought to do so and what actually happened.

Who was Guru Arunagiri, before and after? How did leprosy get cured?

  • sir

muruga's grace would have cured sir... ungalukku theriyaadha vishayamaa??? that too on arunagirinathar!!!!!!
  • will take up periyapuranam, go in detail and come back after a week.
  • Yes sir!

He got cured was true, he was not the same Arunagiri too, he was different.
Which parts are true to which parts are developed are not clear yet.

Am trying to identify what was the actuals so it can help people going forward.
  • I sincerely doubt if you will find the answer there.

Ramanuja crawling up Tirupathi must not be considered same as Ammayar crawling up using her head over Kailash.

One was physical other was metaphysical.

  • mandai kaayudhu sir...

that's why no nadhi moolam and no rishi moolam sir..

anyway all the best for your research,

hope muruga's grace keeps you in the right path
  • nethi adi sir..

RIGHT path or LEFT path.. all paths leads to god...

    "aakaashaadh padhidhanthoyam yatha gachchathih saagaram
    sarvadevam namaskaaraha kesavam prathigachchathih:"

like all water falling from the sky goes to the ocean(saagar can be inferred as ocean or any natural water body based uponinterpretations of various scholars )
worship to all gods are in turn routed to the great "kesavan(vishnu)"...
