There's something about Kalki (was PS vs SS)
  • Dear all...

Here's something I found about PS, SS and the rest:
  • Dear Pavithra and all

That was a wonderful article but sad that PS just had a passing
    remark.
I personally feel it is not justified comparing PS and SS .
Like Madan I think they are like Mahabharatha and Ramayana...

The charectors and the volume of material in pS is amazing and he
does justice to each charecter...SS though having longer timespan of
the main charecters( The actual story span of PS is longer than SS
starting from Sembian madevi..sundaracholar mandhakini times...)but
the main storyline time frame is short.

the events merge in PS sometimes they just are attached in SS like
present day comedy tracks the story of Nedumaran and Mangaiyarkarasi
    fo instance.

Kalki handles a completely different style in both the epics( I think
they are epics in my eyes)

I beg to differ with Krupa in SS is a bore but agree PS urges you to
read on to the finish even if you have an exam in the morning(there
are this sort of nut cases you see)

    More to come

ARE ANY OF YOU EXPERIENCING ANY TROUBLE WITH YAHOOMAIL LIKE NOT
BEING ABLE TO COMPOSE OR REPLY TO MESSAGES
  • I remember reading somewhere and I'm sure many of you would have read this before that Kalki himself liked not PS not SS but Alaiosai the most and thats mainly because he was so involved with the independence struggle and also he identified himself with one of the main heros "Surya" in the story. He portrayed Surya as a rebel which Kalki himself was at that time. Its definitely one of his masterpieces.
P.S. :(idhu pinkirippu not ponniyinselvan... I guess we should put an end to the childish fight of which novel is better cos each has the right to have a favorite and this altercation can continue forever...)
