Rajarajeswaram the pinnacle of chola art- B.VenkatRaman
  • In this book some interesting news is given.

Rajaraja chola recruited his male servants only from bhramadeya
(bhramin community).Bhramdeya villages were villages donated by kings
to bhramins. All the male servants of Rajarajan came from bhramin
    community of such villages.

B.Venkatraman also mentions a new theory on how the temple site of
Rajarajeswaram was selected. He says that kings chose to build temples
in sites were miracles occured. But Rajaraja broke this tradition by
building in a place where no miracle occured,he says.

This book contains some very rare unpublished photographs of idols in
    Rajarajeswaram.
