Not only this... But also in one place in Karnataka..Thalakaadu... There is a Siva temple.. Most part of the year the temple will be drowned in sand and still the archeological dept clean the sand and then offer worship to the God there.. Only in a particular season people will be able to visit the temple. It is actually due to a curse of the queen itseems. I dont know the exact story behind that. But the river cauvery changes its flow in this particular area often.
