1. Kumarangusa - mentioned in Nandivarman's copper plate.
But people get confused after hearing the name Thirukkattuppalli in that copper plate. The copper plate clearly mentions " Puzhal Kottathu , gnayiru naattu Thrikkaattuppalli". Puzhal is close to chennai redhills, Gnayayiru is on the other side of redhills road and Thirukkattuppalli is near ennore creek. Now this place is taken over by Govt from Thermal plant.
The chola king Kumarangusa must be Telugu Chola King.
2. The Tiruttani Copper plate of Parantaga clearly mentions that Vijayalaya's father name was "Otriyuraan" .
We discussed this in detail earlier in this forum. Initially we too thought that Kumarangusa is some one before Vijayalaya.
There are 2 chola people refered in Palava Period.
2. There is another reference of Sundarar singing thevaram in the presence of three kings at Thirupparamkundram.

But again the three kings need not be Chera, Chola, Pandyas. It might be Chera, Pandya, Pallava Kings. The Parthivasekarapuram copper plate on Parthivasekarapuram Salai mentions the word "Thrairaajya Vivaharam". At that period only Pallava, Chera and Pandya Kingdoms were the major kingdoms.
Hence contrary to the belief that the 3 kings mentioned in thevaram is Chera, Chola and Pandyas, it could be Chera, Pandya and Pallavas.
Dear Sankar, 1. In that article, they mentioned that Kumarangusa's son name was Vijayalaya Cholan and daughter name was Seerpadhadevi. I don't know what source/evidence they have for this. 2. Thol kudi vendhar,Mudiyudai vendhar and Moovendhar all these means generally Chera,Chola, Pandyas only. I don't think Pallavas fall in this category. Even though Cholas werecontrolled by Pallavas, they were still Kings. In this song he mentioned that Ulaganda moovendharand not Ulagalum moovendhar.So, there is no mistakethatconsidering Cholas as one of the Ulaganda moovendhareven though they were small Kings.
