friends, recently i found posters in chidambaram. they claimed about a dynasty called pallava vamsa vanniya chola dynasty. apparently it was claiming some hereditary rites over the temple. they also claimed to be the descendents of hiranya varman(?simma vishnu pallavan). these families still live in and around chidambaram. they were formerly powerful zameen of this area in 19th century. gandhi
