Photos from 1860s (supposedly) from Madras College of Arts and Crafts housed at University of Chicago Digital Library. This may be of interest to the curious, as there are stand-alone-statues that I have not seen during my vists. Also there is a beautiful Somaskanda panel which is labeled as Buddha, his wife and child. There is a tall mandapam that I dont recall seeing. Look forward to hearing your comments and thoughts.
I wonder if Madras College of Arts and Crafts (have not heard about it), presumably in Chennai, might house some old photos and records that may be of historical value?
