Hi, May you please give little more details about the book, such as publisher, ISBN and where can I get, is there some online site from where I can procure this. This all information will help, at least to me, if I am interested in the book. I would surely like to buy such a book where such a database is stored.
All of the address should be on a single line. I did a quick browse; published originaly in 1982 and was reprinted in 1993 by Asia Educational Services, C-2/15, SDA New Delhi 110016.
An interesting compilation; it has nice description and photos (not a great print) of over 260 sites. Quite a compilation. The diappointment is it primarily describes the "famous" temple sites, including several northern Dravidian temples.
It is an useful resource from the perspective of the 1980's. Note that we have greately expanded knowledgebase of temples in the last 30years.
Hi, Today I got this book from Landmark, published by Rupa & Co, costing Rs 195. However it was quite a disappointment as this publication does not have any plates which were in the original print by AES. Unfortunately AES print is out of print as per AES site. Another disappointment was that this book does not have any temple from Pudukottai region. One good thing about this publication is that the author has given a detailed description of the inscriptions collected from various temples. It would have been a good reference book with the pictures and the plates however this publication from Rupa does not do justice with the efforts put by the author.
