GREETINGS ON WOMANS DAY CENTENARY
  • Dear SPS,

Its really historical as you rightly put it. But I find it a bit amusing :)
Some might throw brickbats at me me...just a tangetail thought...

All partieis have been debating on thsi "womens bill" for the past 14 years.
Why did they wait for a constitutaionl amendment...

Did RRC first created a 'rule' of sort for what ever you mentioned and then
created those portfolios? He just did it.
Likewise, why didnt any party in the past said, we will give 33% of the
total seat we are contesting in the elections to women..or anyone who they
feel are deprived? A law is not needed for political parties to do this?
Today Mulayam singh has shared the same thoughts...may be his angle is
political, but my angle is just logical...

may village panchayats which were already allocated to women, have women
president, but in actual their husbands are running the show. Those women
'panchayat presidents' are mere rubber stamp. I will get into trouble, if I
saw my area is a standing example for that :)

I feel, this never needs a BILL but only WILL from the politicians.
  • Dear Satish,

We have been (rightly) avoiding Polity discussions ...

have just updated myself on RS & LS proceedings.

simple : Samajwadi needed Jayapradha and
Lalluji needed his wife Rabridevi to tide over their
    respective crises.

Together they sought support of Soniyaji too prior to and after Elections !! that is polity..

TOO DEEP for us - common persons - to understand.

let us distance ourselves again from these discussions dear.

  • I agree with satis. It is democrazy.

The system is going to be totally spoiled.

without such reservation we had woman PM and CMs.
