It was the same book I took.. by Robert Sewell. One thing puzzled me at Badami. Given how humiliating the Pallava Kalvettu must have been for the Chalukyas, how come when they finally overthrew the Pallava yoke, they didn't destroy the kalvettu? Interesting to ponder what?
