Actually Venkat i believe they are two different issues both equally important..like you just mentioned the unconscious influence of Tintin on your writing...like that books have lot of unconscious influence.
The influence of racism you can see much better abroad. Majority indians believe white skin is superior (not necessarily coming from white people but even within ourselves). Majority indians have some kind of inferior attitude about dark skinned people (there is a very famous indian coined word 'kallu' referring to african americans).
Like Herge said sometimes we cannot help colonial influences..but he apologized..Blyton didn't. I believe our attitudes owe a lot to reading and assimilating that kind of material although we may not realize it mamany times.
