having posted the photograph of the lighthouse ruins in kodikarai i had 2 responses. surprisingly on the same day. satheesh of our group said
"The Bricks does not look like the old one, have found any old temples with this size of bricks?"
another comment by a non member was that it closely resembled the danish constructions at tranquebar
am sure the light house existed during kalki's time enabling him to add it to his novel. but is it a chola construction? or a european watch tower with so much marine activity in karaikal, nagapattinam and kodikarai.
is there any refernce to a chola light house in kodikarai?
