Just a reminder..when you reply please delete the previous mail you van do it by going to setting and altering the reply settings...
If you want to respond to a particular statement...Cinema dialogue style response then just leave the most importnat bit and delete the rest ...
It helps archiving and also helps new members to read the archives better
I am working on it infact spend the whole new years day deleting messages and archiving files.
I am really sorry to say this but sooner or later I am going to have to delete any mail which has not deleted the Original message to save space.
I have to do this with a heavy heart and heavy hand because inspite of my repeated requests the members still dont delete the original message.
Second i have half archived the previous years mails into different headings and am planning to delete them all that would give us some more space
If you want Periyakoil saram it will all be as one message or If you want Nandhinis father it will have all the messages.
Maybe we can convert them as PDFs later but doing so we have to update them annually because some new member will want to add something.I dont want new members to get the same response i got it has been discuused already( I recently gave some onre that response) so If we have them archived then they can just read and add
Moreover I think we can move some of the archeological discussions to the pS varalaru site The only reason we all argreed to copy them to PS site was to creat an awareness but lately they all are directed only to PS may be we need to do something about it.
Hopefully we can creat space that way.
I may also remove the PS story in our files section I am sure people can read them from PM site or as pdf s if we provide the linx.

I didnt check my mail for twodays and the whole box was filled with such tresayures from Mr Srihari Thats great...
So the magnificient feat of Lara was matched with our 400th member the pearls of wisdom just keep flowing
My only concern is that they should reach the members...I would request mr Srihari to limit to a couple of topics every week so that the message gets to the members and they can discuss
The down side of carpetbombing is you think you ll read them in the weekend and nextweek and then just delete it I truy hard to read everysingle mail but sometimes these things are ignored and that would be a wasted effort...
I ve just taken the liberty as I am wearing my Moderator Hat at the moment I hope tyou gus agree...
Second Plaese delete the oroginal message while replying saves space is responding to a specific line or passage just cut paste that alone like SB sir

I cannot remember how many times I have said this but one has to repeat himself time and again for the benefit of the new members
1.If you are raising a new Querry and Discussion please Change the subject and labell it appropriately I know it is easy to click reply and send a mail than send a fresh one
2.Please delete the original mail when yo reply unless you are siting selective lines in the original mail in which case retain those and delete the rest. It makes archiving easier
The senior members of the group knew this mail would surface sooner or later....as it always does....
1)Can you please delete the previous message when replying...saves space on the server
2) Change the subject as relevant...If you are talking about moonram yathirai dont leave the subject as periyar bashing....Just an example....helps in archiving

Can I request you a few things 1. Please change the subject when you send a new subject:helps archiving 2. Please sign off as XYZ so we can reply addressing you as XYZ 3. Please adhere to the Angappan limit! lots of interesting stuff at once is great but they tend to go unnoticed so if you have lots of links and info send them in installments so we can mull over them and discuss them..especially all the beautiful links from Bala and VJ...we need time to analyse them

Delete unwanted contents Please delete previous mails when replying it makes i long...it takes time..it makes archiving difficult Language: Please feel free to type in Tamil but post a summary translation for the rest of us as we dont want to loose valuable info due to software glitches ( English and TAMIL) Delete courtesy mails Dear fellow moderators can we all please delete coutesy and personal details mails periodically so that it's not abused.

Dear Gokul I used to do them in the past because that way archiving was easy a Thank you mail,wishes and so on do not need saving for posterity between Moderators we can do that every sunday one of us can delete not archivable mails
secondly if member want discussions archived PLEASE change Subject if you are changing subject and delete unwanted content
Thirdly theres nothing wrong to express your believes and have a spirited and dogmatic fight but this is not the right forum for it for certain issues
We have had some lovely discussions and some fireworks
ITS AMAZING HOW THIS GROUP HAS GONE FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH from a small forum on PS which Ramchi started in 2002 .....to a forum with 2007 members!!
I am a bit dissappointed that most of them won't reach the relevent threads as we haven't changed the Subject.(myself included as I was catching up with a lot)
May I request you all to kindly change the subject if you are changing the thread.
Secondly we are also at the risk of losing some valuable and potential threads in the flurry of activity.
