I consider the love of Manimegalai towards VD is the greatest one in the novel.She fell in love before meeting him as she was impressed by his brothers words.Though she was princess she was willing to marry him.Her brothers opinon was entirely opposit when she happen to meet VD.But she didn't giveup her love.When her father and brother offered two chances to become pattamagishi of Chola kingdom by marrying either Athitha karikalan or Mathuranthagan she was not prepared to giveup her love towards VD.That selfless true love lasted in her heart till end of her life. I agree with sathya in this context
