VJ, awesome pics and post, thank you!! The ACK version of Garuda was my favorite a child too. Just couple of things if I may add - in the last/final part of the story, the only 'naga' that drinks a few drops of Indra's Amrit was Adisesha who hence remained immortal.(There is one other snake too, forget the name). Garuda's two sons were Sampaathi and Jataayu both of whom are featured in the Ramayana. (Sampathi tries to save brother Jatayu from the sun, gets burned and is unable to fly until Sri Rama liberates him from the curse).
Garuda literally means vedic knowledge and his wings signify how the knowledge has reached us from heavens. His other names include Sarpaarti (enemy of snakes) and Suparna (with beautiful wings). Sri Garuda' wife is Garudi.
The Garuda Visnu Kencana Park in Bali is a very famous cultural theme park dedicated to Garuda and has one of the world's biggest garuda sculptures. I dont' know if there are any on the internet.
