Analysis on Kalaikkovan's answers #1
  • Hi Friends,

Shall we take up the points we discussed with Dr. Kalaikkovan during
our Irandaam Yaathirai one by one and discuss about it?

The first question we asked him was about his finding that the
vimaanam of tanjore temple is not made up of a single stone.

Ofcourse, there is no doubt that it is not a single stone. But, he
added that there was no need of ramps and they used pulley system to
lift the stones. If so, does the name of the village 'Saarappallam'
not mean the beginning point of the saaram? And is that the reason
    for Dr. JB's mounam also(?!).

  • Kamal,

    I thought about this.

    Arguement 1:
I think they should have taken mud from this place for constructing
other saarams and hence the place became "pallam. Over a period of
time, it came to be known as sarapallam.

    Arg 2 :

Sarapallam is not connected with raajarajeswaram at all.
