It is a great pleasure for us to announce that the 3rd Annual Conference of the Society will be held under the auspices of the Allahabad Museum at Allahabad (U.P) from 30th to 31st October 2007.
The aim of the Society is to provide a common forum for interaction among Scientists, Archaeologists, Historians and others with varied disciplinary interests.
A window has been opened to bring forth the researches conducted by the scholars engaged in the field of Archaeology, Epigraphy, History, Art and Architecture, Numismatics, Ancient Mathematics, Physical, Biological and Metallurgical Sciences, Ancient Economics and Commerce, Computer Analysis of Ancient data, Sciences in Indian languages and Literature, Scientific Compendiums , History and Philosophy of Science, Onomastics, etc.
This Conference is planned to provide a large canvass of ancient and traditional sciences in comparison with recent scientific discoveries.
Besides Science from Vedic literatures, this meet will explore the various aspects of Indian scientific heritage , History of Science, Science and Technology shrouded in Itihasas, Puranas , Smritis, Sutras, Samhitas , Dharmasastras and others in various languages. You are requested to bring out the ancient Scientific and Technological Knowledge of Ancient Indians in your Presentations.
Former Rashbehary Ghose Professor of Mathematics, University of Kolkata and former Vice-Chancellor , Visva Bharati University Professor.Dr.Dilipkumar Sinha, has kindly consented to inaugurate this Conference. Professor.Dr. Smt. Vibha Tripathi, Professor and former Head of the Dept. of Ancient Indian History Culture and Archaeology, Banaras Hindu university, Varanasi will be the General President of the Conference.
The 2nd volume of the Society's Journal will be released on this occasion by the eminent Indologist and Honorary Fellow of our Society Professor .Dr.Samaresh Bandyopadhyay, who will also preside over the Theme Session on (i) "History and Archaeology of the Allahabad Region" and(ii) "Science in the Rural Life of Ancient India".
Besides these themes, there will be open sessions on different disciplines where scholars can present papers on topics of their special interest.
Delegates are requested to send the Abstracts not exceeding 250 words and the papers with C.D. to Dr.Smt.N.Pankaja, Joint Secretary of the Society before 15th October, 2007. Abstract should be typed in a single page, double space on one side of A4 size. Full paper should be on one side of A4 size, double space not exceeding 8 to 10 pages.
Registration fee: Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) for each delegate (local as well as outstation delegates including students and accompanying persons).The registration fee should be sent by Money Order or Bank Draft drawn in favour of Organising Secretary Dr.S.K.Sharma, Director, The Allahabad Museum, payable at any Nationalised Bank at Allahabad.
