Hey guys ! I came across an amazing inscription which proves that history was taught as a subject even during chola times !! Those guys were doing studies on sangam cholas, the kalabhras and the pallavas... Universities in kanchi might have had faculties for this subject !
Look at the inscription attached - you can even read the term varalaaru in the inscription.
