The murder of Adhitha Karikalan- what really happened?
  • Dear all...

    Pre-script: If the subject-line sounds blood-curdling- I'm not
    responsible:-)

    My personal two cents worth:

    > Was kalki himself not clear about this character?

I think Kalki was clear about his character all right- but he'd
decided that he would project the Chozha dynasty as a noble, super-
efficient family- there could be no place for traitors. Therefore,
the elaborate rigmarole about babies getting changed at birth, et al.
That way, he could bring in the bit about Uthama Chozha (the fake)
being involved with the Pandiyas- but he could absolve Uthama of all
blame too(the Uthama here is Sendhan Amudhan). Cool, huh?

    > Even then, why didn't he mention in PS about his involvement in the
    > conspiracy?

Same reason- Kalki wasn't just writing a historical novel- he was-
rather delicately- building the Thamizh people's pride in their past.
To project a prince- a Chozha prince -as a traitor would be fatal.
    Hence...

    > If so, where did Ravidasan & co murder AK? In Udaiyar, Balakumaran
    > wrote that AK was killed in Kodumbalur. Then, how did AK's dead
body come to Veeranarayana puram Eari?

I've heard that AK wasn't murdered either in Kadambur, or
Kodumbaalur. The exact site of the murder is unknown. Each author
assumed his own site. (courtesy:Dr. jaybee)

(There seems to be a vague point here: According to BK's 'Udaiyaar',
AK is murdered in Kodumbalur - but his body floats in the
    Veeranarayanapuram Eri. How come???? )

    > Since AK is a crown prince, there must be some 'Meikkaappaalarkal'
    > for him. What were they doing during the murder? How did Ravidasan
& co bring the dead body out of the fort by hacking the security of
    the fort?

That in itself points to the murder being an inside job...right?

C'mon you guys...what do you think?
