Why we need varalaaru?
  • Sri,
Happy to see that you are back.
Let me clarify the bid on Varalaaru.
    1. We imagine that all PS varalaaru members are ps group members. In other
words, varalaaru is a subset - but this does'nt prevent anybody from
becoming a member of varalaaru directly. This needs to be addressed.
However, we assume that all varalaaru members check ps mails daily. So I
don't think there is a need for weekly digest etc.

2.Ideally, in Varalaaru - there should be nothing other that website
discussions. Please note that we are coming out with 2 different websites -
one for our group (under www.ponniyinselvan.net) and one more for
    Dr.Rajamanickanar Instutute (URL unknown).

    3. For Ponniyin selvan, we have complete control and the website design you
    saw is for this activity.

    4. For the second one, we have to speak to Dr.Kalaikovan and co-ordinate
    with him on this efforts.

    5. We could have had the website discussions here itself - but ram probably
thought that our files and photo section already looks cluttered - and
these activities will only worsen the situation.

    6. Going further - we assume that varalaaru will help us to streamline our
activities a bit. Ofcourse we need to see how this goes.

Losing Members - I have no idea. But yes, as mathy says this could be
bouncing problem or something else. But I'm more worried that out of 250
and odd members, less than 25 (or 10%) reply to emails.
