I have added the photo "Asakusan Buddha" to the Photos section of both PonniyinSelvan and Agathiyar groups. This statue is at the Asakusan Buddha temple in Tokyo. This pose is probably unique (at least to me) among Buddha statues that I have seen. The Buddha in this holds a staff, shaped like a "vEl" in a very Murugan like pose. Has anybody seen anything similar to this? I thought it might be of interest to members of both forums.
