The meeting for the PS egroup was scheduled at 4.30 PM a Natesan's Park last evening- and we met accordingly for it. Kamal and Krupashankar arrived first, while I And Sumeetha (Who does the translation of PS) arrived next. After that came Lavanya.
Talk came to the Symposium that's going to be held this month- which has been potponed from 20th April to 27th April. So now the Symposium will be held at Hotel Karpagam, Mylapore, on 27th April, at 4 PM. As of now, Raj TV and Ananda Vikatan will be covering the Symposium- Mr. Sundar Bharadwaj has numerous contacts.
MakkalE...I 'm sure we all have dozens of questions to ask the experts who'll be present there- and who will be expecting a good Q & A session from us. So here's something for all of us to participate in:
Kindly write up your questions- anything concerning PS's history, the kings of TN. etc...do write to the group about it, and we'll make a list of it- and ask the experts about them. We need as many as you can supply us with- the experts will expect a good deal:-)
The next thing that came under discussion was the fact that we didn't have a working group of members locally- people who could pitch in with the group work in Chennai and thereabouts. This would help when events and trips are organized with Chennai as the base. Members of this 'physically present' group will be a 'kuzhu' in their own right. Naturally- the numbers will change whenever an overseas member comes home:-)- so- those who are localites, or even in any place within Tamil Nadu- kindly contact Kamal and sign up with him.
Five of us is much too small a number (those of us who were present yesterday), you see. We need more.
After that, we spent some time socializing. Sumeetha was new to all of us- so we got better acqauinted with her. She works in www.sulekha.com- and she promised us a good deal of help from that quarter, should we need her help.
After that, talk turned to general topics. Apparently Dr. Kalaikovan was arriving in Chennai today (April 15th) for a book release- and Kamal wanted to know who would like to meet him. Dr. Kalaikovan had also informed him that he'd like volunteers for his expeditions. It looks like our group will have plenty to do in the following months.
By this time, evening had turned into night, and the watchman actually started hounding us out of our benches- so we had to leave- reluctantly.
