Does anybody know the exact date when Ponniyin Selvan's first Chapter was published in Kalki? I think it was written in 1953 but I don't know the dates. This should be treated as PS Birthday and we should celebrate this every year as the birthday of Tamil's finest historical epic - apart from celebrating Amarar Kalki's birthday - which is Sep 9th. Gokul annen, I am afraid the first chapter of the historic epic was laid out on the plantain leaf (vaazhai ilai!!) to the tamil readers marking a great beginning on October 29th 1950. Unfortunately we missed the 50th birthday, but we can celebrate the 50 anniversary of the concluding chapter this year!
Hi Yagna Thanks a lot for the Info! What do you mean by laying out in Vazhai ilai? Do you mean the layout of the magazine or the designs of Maniyam for the first chapter? I've seen the original 1950 pages but I cannot recollect any Vazhai ilai patterns...may be I forgot!! Or am I misunderstaing what you are trying to say?
